UST students top CPA licensure exam

A total of 4,773 examinees successfully passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examination earlier this month, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Monday, October 15.
 Two students of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) - Bren Sapnu Cruz and Celaica Castaritas Vibar - topped the list of successful examinees, both getting a 94.14% rating.

There were a total of 9,987 examinees, the PRC said.

The University of the Philippines Diliman (UP Diliman), meanwhile, had a 100% passing rate among schools with 50 or more examinees, with 94 passers out of 94 examinees.

Celaica Castaritas Vibar, CPA

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Cards and Certificates of Registration will start Tuesday, November 6.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremonies will be announced later, the PRC added.

He was also awarded as a distinguished student leader as a former officer of the Supreme Student Government and received President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Campus Journalism Award. He attended two National Leadership Training for the Student Government Officers, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Youth for Environment Summer Camp, Science Leaders Congress and Schools Press Conference. Joined and won in the several contests from their school to the national level.

He is an officer and a member of the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo)

Paul is a BS Accountancy student at the University of Northern Philippines. He works for CBAA Biznews and  The Blog of Innocence: SilentVoice Points. He is the CBAA Biznews’ Editor-in-Chief.

October 2012 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 4,772 out of 9,987 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi this October 2012.
The results were released in one (1) working day after the last day of examination.
The members of the Board of Accountancy are Atty. Eugene T. Mateo, Chairman; Dr. Rufo R. Mendoza, Vice Chairman; Luis A. CaƱete and Jose S. Tayag, Jr., Members.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 but not later than Friday, November 9, 2012. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 pieces 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2012-2015. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.
The accounting profession was the first among the professions to achieve full computerization of the CPA licensure examination, paving the way for the current record one-day release of examination results.
